In 2020, Mira found herself going through the auction pipeline when Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue pulled her out of a kill pen. Within days of being adopted, she showed signs of pregnancy. Subsequently, a test confirmed her condition! Merely 45 days later, Mira gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, surprise filly, Lila.

We will never know the circumstances Mira dealt with in her past. Unfortunately, she came with no history from the kill pen. That means no age, no breed, no name – nothing. She will thankfully live out her life knowing what love is and that there are good people. She has truly let her colors shine and has a kind soul. Mira is always the first to greet people and the last one to leave. She is always up for scratches, a good grooming, hanging out with her humans, and her favorite treat- bananas!

Despite a love for trail riding, Mira is now at a point where retirement is the kindest thing for her body. Our lovely is now enjoying a beautiful life at Elysium Acres Horse Sanctuary, where she lives out 24/7 with her pasture mate Akira—enjoying the good life! Shauna
